Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a thermal fusion type vibration-damping material excellent in shape retention, moldability, vibration-damping properties, rigidity, etc., by laminating metallic foil onto one surface of an asphalt base sheet formed by rolling the mixture of asphalt and fillers.

CONSTITUTION: Metallic foil 1 is laminated onto one surface of an asphalt sheet 2 shaped by rolling the mixture of asphalt and fillers, thus manufacturing a vibration-damping material. Consequently, the metallic foil 1 laminated onto one surface of the asphalt base sheet 2 composing said vibration-damping material can be held to a shape wherein the asphalt base sheet 2 is molded when the metallic foil is molded previously along the irregular surface shapes of a dash panel, etc. The asphalt base sheet 2 is given rigidity while the vibration- damping properties of the base sheet 2 can also be increased.
