Abstract:
To enable highly sensitive vibration detection with a low cost constitution without using an expensive polarimeter.SOLUTION: A vibration detection optical fiber sensor comprises a light source part 10, an optical fiber 20 and a polarization state measurement part 30. The light source part generates probe light which periodically becomes a first to N-th (N is an integer of 2 or greater) polarization state. The optical fiber propagates the probe light which has been input from one end side and outputs the same from the other end side as output light. The polarization state measurement part receives the output light at a photodetector 34 through a polarizer 32.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
