To provide a vibration generator capable of preventing the breakage of a housing due to the collision of a permanent magnet.
A vibration generator 1 has a cover portion 31 equipped with a second permanent magnet 26. By loosening the cover portion 31 to a housing 17, a magnetic member 25 and the second permanent magnet 26 are separated. A magnetic influence which the second permanent magnet 26 exerts on the magnetic member 25 becomes small. A first permanent magnet 13 comes close to the magnetic member 25. A magnetic influence which the first permanent magnet 13 exerts on the magnetic member 25 becomes large, and the magnetic member 25 is magnetized. The first permanent magnet 13 is adsorbed to the magnetized magnetic member 25, and becomes impossible to move in a longitudinal direction. On the other hand, by screwing the cover portion 31 into the housing 17, the magnetic member 25 and the second permanent magnet 26 come close to each other. The magnetic influence which the second permanent magnet 26 exerts on the magnetic member 25 becomes large, and the first permanent magnet 13 separates from the magnetic member 25, and becomes possible to move in the longitudinal direction.
