Abstract:
PURPOSE:To accurately measure a rotational angular velocity without being affected by the characteristics of piezoelectric elements by connecting detection terminals for detecting the rotational angular speed to the input side of the piezoelectric element for driving. CONSTITUTION:Detection terminals 28a and 28b are connected to two input terminals of a differential circuit 30. This circuit 30 detects impedance variation between the piezoelectric elements 16a and 16b for driving as the potential difference between their electrodes 22a and 22b. Therefore, the rotational angular velocity of the vibration gyro 10 is known from the output of the circuit 30. This gyro 10 uses no detection dedicated piezoelectric element and the potential difference between the electrodes 22a and 22b of the elements 16a and 16b is detected to measure the rotational angular velocity. Therefore, even if the elements 16a - 16b have variance in characteristics, the rotational angular velocity can accurately be measured without being affected by the characteristics of the elements as a driving voltage is made command and stabilized.
