PURPOSE: To provide a vibration gyroscope with which highly sensitive and highly precise angular velocity detection can be performed.

CONSTITUTION: This vibration gyroscope is provided with a vibrator 14 erected on a base 12; an exciting means 16 for applying vibration force 45 degrees oblique to the X-axis direction to the vibrator 14; a displacement detecting means 18 for detecting displacement of the vibrator 14 in the X-axis direction and Y-axis direction; a vibration control means for controlling vibration of the vibrator 14 based on a sum of displacement in the X-axis direction and that in the Y-axis direction of the vibrator 14 detected by the displacement detecting means 18; and an angular velocity computing means for computing angular velocity based on a variation quantity of difference between displacement in the X-axis direction and that in the Y-axis direction of the vibrator 14 detected by the displacement detecting means 18.
