PURPOSE: To exactly select oil dampers by using a vibration isolator consisting of the link mechanism of oil damper for controlling the vibration of cable and the oil damper of link mechanism for controlling the vibration of cable, having a controlling function for the direction conversion of cable vibration and the vibrating amount of cable.
CONSTITUTION: A cable 3 is connected with a bridge girder 4 by a link mechanism 1 with a turnable top-pin binding form, and an oil damper expandable with the mechanism 1 is set on two tops on the way of the mechanism 1. When the cable 3 is vertically vibrated, the mechanism 1 expands or contract with the cable 3 in the parallel direction and at the same time the oil damper 2 expands or contracts. The vibration controlling of the cable is represented as a function of the expanding or contracting rate of the oil damper 2 by a viscous resistance to be produced during the expanding or contracting period of the damper 2. Since attachment is permitted by differentiating the vibrating direction of cable and the direction of oil damper, large-scale oil damper can be attained.
