PURPOSE: To absorb transverse vibration and longitudinal vibration and adjust horizontal level of a press machine easily by providing a buffer metal, a plate spring and an adjusting mechanism.

CONSTITUTION: The threaded part 10 of a cross bolt 1 is inserted into a hole on the leg stand of a press machine and screwed, and the leg stand and a vibration- proof device are connected. Adjusting of horizontal level is performed by moving an adjusting bolt 5 vertically by inserting a bar into a hole 26 of an adjusting nut 7 and rotating. When a big impact is transmitted to the cross bolt 1, a convex face of the head of the bolt 1 slides on a concave face of a buffer metal 2 transversely and vibrates sideways and absorbs vibration. Longitudinal vibration is transmitted to a metal body 3 through the cross bolt 1, buffer metal 2 and absorbed by bending of the plate spring 4 and escaping to a bending gap 23. Since there is play in the free direction on the convex face of the head of cross bolt 1 and concave face of the buffer metal 2, complicated vibration is absorbed effectively.
