PURPOSE: To present a vibration resistant performance and damping performance compatibly and preclude the mechanism from getting complicated.
CONSTITUTION: A surface reference plate 1 as a body to be vibro-isolated is supported by an electro-viscous fluid damper 2 and a pneumatic spring 3. A sensor 12 to sense the displacement speed of the surface plate 1 is connected with a control device 13, which controls a high voltage power supply 36 to impress a voltage on an electro-viscous fluid. Receiving a turbulence externally, the surface plate 1 vibrates, and when the output signal of the sensor 12 exceeds a certain value, voltage is impressed on the electro-viscous fluid. When turbulence goues out and the output signal of the sensor 12 has become below a certain value, the impression of the voltage is stopped. For vibration having a large amplitude, the time required for the amplitude to converge to the order of deci micron becomes shorter. Then a sufficient vibration resistance is exhibited by the pneumatic spring 3 for vibration having a small amplitude.
