To provide a vibration restraining device capable of surely restraining rocking in the horizontal direction of a suspending object, by connecting/separating the suspending object and the ceiling.
The vibration restraining device 10 for damping the rocking of the suspending object M includes: a liftable suspending object support part 2 for supporting the suspending object M, a connecting/separating unit 13 constituted of a pin 11 arranged on the ceiling 4 side and a pin receiving part 12 arranged on the suspending object support part 2 side, connected when the suspending object support part 2 rises and releasing the connection when the suspending object support part 2 descends; a damping unit 14 for connecting a part between the pin receiving part 12 and the suspending object support part 2 in the horizontal direction; and an aligning unit 15 for moving the pin receiving part 12 in the horizontal direction so as to align the pin 11 and the pin receiving part 12 to the vertical axis L.
