Abstract:
To provide a vibration suppressing device capable of suppressing vibration of a work.SOLUTION: A vibration suppressing device 18 is a vibration suppressing device used for a turning device 10 including: a headstock 12 which holds one end of a workpiece W extending along a shaft core and rotates the workpiece W around an axis center; a tailstock 14 having a rotation center 24 supporting the other end of the workpiece W and rotating together with the workpiece W. The vibration suppressing device includes a conductive member 34 having conductivity and a magnetic field generating member 36 for generating a magnetic field acting on the conductive member 34. By making the conductive member 34 rotate with respect to the magnetic field generating member 36 with the workpiece W, the conductive member applies, to rotation of the workpiece W, braking force F generated on the basis of eddy current flowing in the conductive member 34 and generated at an interval shorter than a period of the rotation of the workpiece W.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
