To provide a vibrator wherein size and thickness is reduced and strong thrust is obtained.
The vibrator comprises a moving unit 50 with a permanent magnet 70 installed thereon, a stator 10 that has end faces 37 and 37 facing opposite to the end faces 53 and 53 of the unit 50 with gaps 28 and 28 in-between and forms a magnetic path between the stator and the unit 50 by passing current in a coil 33 to excite the coil, and elastic supporting members 80 and 80 the ends of which are installed on the unit 50 on one side and on the stator 10 on the other side and which thereby support the unit 50 so that the unit can vibrate. The n-magnetic pole of the permanent magnet 70 faces opposite to the stator 10 and a high-magnetic permeability member 75 for attracting magnetic flux is installed on the n-magnetic pole of the permanent magnet 70. By placing the face of the high-magnetic permeability member 75 with the face opposite to the peripheral side face of the coil 33, the magnetic path is formed, so that magnetic flux from the n-magnetic pole of the permanent magnet 70 is guided to enter the coil 33 via the peripheral side face of the coil 33, and be thereafter directed in the direction of magnetization of the stator 10 by the coil 33.
