PURPOSE: To facilitate discharge of chips from a cut work without letting them pile around the periphery of the vice device by providing the vice device inclined at a prescribed angle to the horizontal direction.

CONSTITUTION: After a work W is projected ahead of the cutting face of a round saw blade 23 by a prescribed article length, the work W is clamped by the cooperation of a fixed vice 11 and a movable vice 13. The round saw blade 23 is rotated by a rotation driving device 19. When a slide base 15 is approached to the direction of the vice device 5 in such a state, the round saw blade 23 abuts against the work W so that the cut work is started. Chip C produced thereat is discharged outside by the function of the vice device 5 and a screw conveyor 2 which are provided at prescribed angles inclined to the horizontal direction so that the underneath of the screw conveyor 25 is kept clean.
