Abstract:
The vice comprises a main screw or spindle (18) which produces a simple translation movement of a movable jaw (16) to a fixed jaw (12) and back again. Additionally, the movable jaw (16) can be adjusted at an angle around a vertical axis (52) by using a second clamp screw (20). This screw produces a controlled continuous adjustment of the jaw (16) angle, thus permitting the adjustment of the vice so that a line or point contact between jaws and workpiece is obviated. Also, pref., the vice incorporates a third clamp screw (22) to provide similar angle adjustment of the movable jaw (16) around a horizontal axis.
