To provide a video camcoder with a built-in camera with which one part of indication for shooting conditions is prevented from being omitted or display characters are prevented from being burnt and the visibility of display character or icon can be improved by separating a display area for thin-out video signals and a display area for character or icon for the shooting conditions on the liquid crystal display of a videw finder.

This device is provided with a camera block part 1, a recorder block part 2, a display device block part 3 and a system control microcomputer block part 4. Then, a TG/driver IC part 34 at the display device block part 3 performs control so that thinning can be dealt with in the video signal display area on a liquid crystal display 31 for thinning a few scanning lines among several lines but thinning is not performed in the shooting condition display area, and the system control microcomputer block part 4 performs control for separating the video signal display area and the shooting condition display area.
