PURPOSE: To exactly guide a route by recording navigation data and direction instruction data together with the recording of picture information from a video camera, superimposing the navigation data and the direction instruction data to the picture information, and displaying the route on the monitor.

CONSTITUTION: A car control part 1 is provided to detect the navigation data, direction instruction data and steering data of a car and a recording means 6 is provided to record the navigation data and the direction instruction data together with the picture information from a video camera 4. A system controller 2 is provided to display the route on a monitor 7 while superimposing the navigation data and the direction instruction data to the picture information from a VCR 3 at the time of reproducing. At the time of recording, guide information composed of a picture for each check point such as a corner, etc., from a starting point to a destination, traveling and direction instruction data are recorded and at the time of reproducing, the guide information are displayed on a screen in advance for each check point in the route. Thus, even a person not knowing the route can easily arrive at the destination along the route.
