Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video camera for creating a synthetic image by combining a plurality of electronic images generated by multiple times of consecutive exposure.SOLUTION: A driver 18c exposes an image sensor 16 in each exposure period PRvsync. A CPU 34 defines a period corresponding to N-fold (N: integer equal to or greater than 2) exposure period PRvsync as a specific exposure period SPR, sets an exposure time corresponding to the exposure period PRvsync to the driver 18c in timing different from the timing corresponding to the specific exposure period SPR and, on the other hand, sets a short exposure time to the driver 18c in the timing corresponding to the specific exposure period SPR. The CPU 34 then repeats processing for creating a single synthetic image data item on the basis of image data of latest N frames generated by exposure operation. The CPU 34 further applies to the synthetic image data processing for correcting a contour of a dynamic subject when any other frame than a final frame in the N frames to be a basis of the synthetic image data is a short exposure image. Thus, quality of a synthetic image can be improved.
