Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video display device that enables viewing in a normal image quality by emitting a laser beam when the device is operated after a cover of a housing of the device is removed and thereafter the cover is attached in an original state.SOLUTION: A liquid crystal television 20 serving as a video display device includes: a cover 3 that covers a back side of the liquid crystal television 20; a state detection section 4 that detects an open/closed state of the cover 3; a control section 6 that controls light emission from a laser light source 103; and a notification section that can notify a light emission state of the laser light source 103 through a video display of a liquid crystal panel 10. The control section 6 stops light emission from the laser light source 103 when the open state of the cover 3 is detected by the state detection section 4, and causes the notification section to notify that light emission from the laser light source 103 is stopped.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
