Abstract:
PURPOSE: To prevent the damage of circuit components due to generation of a ringing signal by actively immobilizing a pulse width modulator and a pin- cushion distortion correction circuit of a television receiver at a proper time. CONSTITUTION: Positive cutting-off or immobilizing circuits Q2 and Q4 are operated, in response to a control signal from a control unit 24 which designates an operation mode of the receiver. This positive immobilizing unit immobilizes a pulse width modulator 999 such as a switch mode pin-cushion distortion correction circuit, in accordance with designation of an operation in the standby mode to prevent a pulse from being generated based on the input of a ringing signal 66. The ringing signal is generated in a horizontal flyback transformer 28 in a transition period following the change into the standby operation mode.
