PURPOSE: To easily display a wide video having various aspect ratios by adopting the configuration that a 1st display means and a 2nd display means are moved horizontally to set an aspect ratio of a composited video as desired.
CONSTITUTION: A liquid crystal display device 22Y(22X) is moved by a motor M1(M2) and a belt BEL1(2) respectively. Video images of the liquid crystal display devices 22Y, 22X are composited on a display screen 22A through a half mirror HM. Brightness is gradually decreased in an area where screens of the liquid crystal display devices 22Y, 22X overlaps with each other, and the brightness level of the original video signal is obtained by superimposing the two divided video signals where the brightness decreases. As a result, a video of wide aspect ratio is displayed.
