A video editing device comprises: a scenario storage unit which stores therein a video editing scenario stipulating a scene composition in which a plurality of scenes are linked in predetermined order, each for a predetermined recording time by scene; means for setting the main subject; a video storage device which stores therein video data for a plurality of videos derived by photographing a plurality of scenes by a plurality of photographing devices and record data indicating whether the main subject and other subjects are included in a unit frame image for each of the plurality of videos, correlating with each other; and video generation means which, on the basis of the video data and the record data stored by the video storage device, generates an edited video consisting of the plurality of scenes linked according to the video editing scenario from the plurality of videos. The video generation means generates an edited video in such a way that, in the entire recording time of the whole edited video, a duration of the main subject included in the edited video is longer than a duration of other subjects included in the edited video.
