The video equipment includes a host function means and a device function means. It also includes a means for switching these two means. When the video equipment can manage and control the device information of other equipment connected to it by means of a means for acquiring/detecting the device information of connected equipment, a device control means controls the device function means of the connected video equipment via the host function means.
