Abstract:
To give the movement instruction of a virtual camera for quickly and appropriately monitoring surroundings of a self character.
A video game apparatus includes: the optical mouse 31 of a first operation member 30 which is slidably installed on the upper surface of an armrest portion 22 of a controller unit 20 and detects a slide amount; and a virtual camera control unit 161d for turning a virtual camera 60 just by an angle according to the slide direction and the slide amount around the self character. When the slide amount is set, the virtual camera 60 is turned by a desired corresponding angle.
