To solve the problem that disadvantage to a user may occur occasionally due to a function provided in a receiver for the purpose of copyright protection.
A video information transmitting/receiving system includes: an I/F information management section for recognizing a copyright protection function, that a receiver has, and the same function of a connected device; an information analysis section for analyzing information about copyright protection from received information; and a program replication management processing section for giving restrictions to contents, wherein a method of restricting contents is changed in accordance with information items.
