PURPOSE: To avoid a trouble of edit designation operation by editing a pattern automatically with the entry of kind of paper and recording the desired unit picture in the same pattern to a prescribed picture forming area.

CONSTITUTION: Edit information relating to a paper kind command (code) inputted from an operation section 40 is read and fetched in a program. The edit information is a parameter corresponding to plural kinds of paper sheets 20 or general paper and stored in a storage means. Then the frame picture information stored in the picture memory is read and an aspect conversion circuit 35 applies processing such as reduction, magnification or rotation of picture information. Then reduced, e.g. picture information is stored in a Prescribed storage area of the memory 36 and the expansion of the entered picture information is implemented based on the edit information by a position register 37. Thus, the desired unit pictures are arranged and recorded in the same pattern to a prescribed picture forming area to avoid a trouble of the edit designation.
