A characteristic keyword is extracted with respect to each of plurality of scenes into which a stored video content is divided, and scores are calculated in accordance with a frequency of the extracted keyword in the scene. The calculated scores of keywords of respective video contents are accumulated per keyword to obtain cumulative values. A scene meeting a prescribed condition out of scenes from which keywords of which the obtained cumulative values of scores are equal to or larger than a threshold have been extracted or a video content including the scene is selected as a scene or a video content to be recommended.
