Abstract:
To provide a video recording control device and a video recording control method capable of reliably recording, in high quality, video images including those of other vehicles that have been tailgating.SOLUTION: A video recording control device according to the present disclosure includes: a distance detection unit 2 that detects a distance between an own vehicle and another vehicle existing in the vicinity of the own vehicle; a line of sight detection unit 3 that detects the line of sight of an occupant of the own vehicle; a tailgating determination unit 4 that determines whether or not another vehicle is tailgating the own vehicle based on the distance detected by the distance detection unit 2 and the line of sight detected by the line of sight detection unit 3; and a video recording control unit 5 that controls recording of a video including the other vehicle at a higher image quality than the normal image quality when the tailgating determination unit 4 determines that the other vehicle is tailgating.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
