Abstract:

To always secure a free space of a program video recording medium such as an HDD while saving the labor of a user.

When the free space of the HDD is less than a preset value, a recorded program satisfying a preset criterion is selected, and candidates of recommended processing methods such as deletion, compression, and so forth for at least part of the recorded program are selected and displayed so that the user can select any of them. The processing method selected by the user is executed to secure the free space of the video recording medium.
