PURPOSE: To obtain the picture quality without missing of color by outputting repetitively two kinds of color difference signals stored in the 1st and 2nd shift registers at generation of dropout to attain the dropout compensation of the color difference signal.
CONSTITUTION: When a dropout is detected by a dropout detector 29, a Q output of an FF41 is inverted. Then switch circuits 33∼35 are changed over. That is, the circuits 33, 34 select respectively shift registers 31, 32 so as to activate the shift registers 31, 32 circulatingly. Thus, after a memory 19 completes the read of, e.g., a B-Y signal, the B-Y signal and an R-Y signal are read respectively from the registers 31, 32 repetitively. Then both outputs of the registers 31, 32 are led to a switch circuit 36. In this case, the circuit 36 continues to supply the R-Y signal and the B-Y signal during dropout to D/A converters 37, 38 by giving an output of an FF42 keeping the inverting state as a control signal via a switch circuit 45 when the FF41 is inverted.
