PURPOSE: To provide the video signal output circuit in which burning of a screen of a cathode ray tube is prevented and a picture when the burning is prevented is easily viewed.

CONSTITUTION: A 1st switch section 10 of a video signal output device A is switched by a microcomputer 8. A field index signal FI is given from a synchronizing signal generating circuit 9 to contacts 102, 103 of the 1st switch section 10. A 2nd switch section 11 is switched by an output of the 1st switch section 10. In order to prevent burning, the 1st switch section 10 selects alternately the two contacts 102, 103 for each of plural fields by the microcomputer 8. Then a 2nd switch section 11 switches two contacts 112, 113 synchronously with a vertical synchronizing signal VD. Since only one field is displayed for each of prescribed fields on a screen of a cathode ray tube 3a of a monitor 3, burning is prevented.
