The auxiliary memory 6 is a recording medium of device rank with a magnetic tape 4 and digital signals are recorded. When a recording switch 34 is closed and recording of video/audio onto the magnetic tape 4 is started, a memory recording switch 30 is similarly closed as well and video/ audio data are recorded in the auxiliary memory 6. In this case, the oldest video/audio data are erased in the auxiliary memory 6 simultaneously with the input of new video/audio data and by recording the new video/audio data in an empty area on the auxiliary memory 6 generated by that erasure, the latest video/audio data equivalent amount for fixed time are controlled to be held in the auxiliary memory 6.
