PURPOSE: To utilize a desired video software(VS) while staying at home by transmitting VS information from a VS shop to the VS receiving terminal equipment of a contracting person, retrieving desired information, receiving the information and outputting it to an output device.

CONSTITUTION: According to a program stored in a ROM 32, a CPU 31 controls respective circuit devices and stores the control data in a RAM 33. The RAM 33 stores the list of image and audio VS transmitted from a VH shop 11 through a communication line 16 and in the case of retrieval, this list is read out. A key control circuit 34 controls the input signal of various keys 22-25 and based on this signal, the CPU 31 controls the various kinds of equipment. A display control circuit 35 displays the handling operation order of the VS information on a display 21. A communication control circuit 37 outputs control information from the CPU 31 to the communication line 16 and permits transmission between terminals 13 and 15 on the sides of the VS shop and contracting person so as to enable the rental use of the received VS information from the contracting person side through the line 16.
