Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an objective indicator that makes it difficult for an individual difference to occur and makes the degree of image quality easily intuitively understandable.SOLUTION: A video monitoring system includes: a success rate calculating unit 11 for calculating the probability that the same image as the recognition target image is correctly selected from database images registered in a database image accumulating unit 21, as a success rate, based on a comparison result of each recognition target image registered in a recognition target image accumulating unit 22 with the database images registered in the database image accumulating unit 21; a different image quality image generation unit 12 for generating a plurality of different image quality images having different image quality from the database image and calculating a recognition rate for determining that each of the different image quality images is the same as the corresponding database image for each image quality; and a performance exhibiting rate calculation unit 13 that calculates a recognition rate of each image quality with respect to the success rate as a performance exhibiting rate of each image quality. An administrator of a surveillance system selects the performance exhibiting rate, and a captured image of the surveillance camera is subjected to data conversion at an image quality (bit rate) corresponding to the performance exhibiting rate, and then stored.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
