PURPOSE: To reduce abrasion and to lengthen a lifetime by composing a cylinder of upper, intermediate and lower three cylinders and forming heads on the upper cylinder and the intermediate cylinder respectively while setting speed difference to the revolution of the upper cylinder and the intermediate cylinder.
CONSTITUTION: A cylinder is constituted of an upper cylinder 1, an intermediate cylinder 2 and a lower cylinder 3, and a head for two hr is loaded on the upper cylinder 1 and a head for six hr on the intermediate cylinder 2. The heads not used simultaneously are mounted on the upper cylinder 1 and the intermediate cylinder 2 while being divided, so that the other is stopped with the head directing toward a part other then the winding section of a tape when one cylinder is turning. The load of the heads and the tape generated from the revolution at high speed of the cylinders can be reduced by rotation with rotational speed lower than that at the time of the rerecording of the other, the abrasion loss of the heads is diminished, and the lifetime of the heads can be kept for a prolonged time.
