The present invention relates to novel functionalised homopolymers and copolymers of vinyl alcohol comprising one or more aminosilane- and/or aminosilanol containing side chains attached to the polymer backbone via a reactive coupling group; to a process for the preparation of such copolymers, and to the use of such copolymers in coatings, inks, sealants or adhesives.
