Abstract:
To provide a method for producing a vinylpyrrolidone polymer, capable of producing the vinylpyrrolidone polymer of high purity, by smoothly and simply reducing a monomer, such as N-vinyl-2-pyrrolidone, remaining therein.
This method for producing the vinylpyrrolidone polymer has a polymerization process for conducting solution polymerization by using at least the N-vinyl-2-pyrrolidone as the monomer in an organic solvent in the presence of a radical initiator soluble in the organic solvent and a distillation and removal process for adding water to the obtained polymer solution, simultaneously conditioning the solution to be acidic, and then distilling and removing a volatile organic component.
