Abstract:
To provide a novel viologen compound, its production method, a negative electrode active material and an electricity storage device.SOLUTION: A viologen compound is a crystalline substance having a heterocyclic site in which alkali metal carboxylate is directly or indirectly bonded to both ends of a basic skeleton containing 4, 4'-bipyridinium and an anion site forming a pair with 4,4'-bipyridinium. This viologen compound may be used in a negative electrode active material of an electricity storage device provided with, for example, a negative electrode containing a negative electrode active material, a positive electrode containing a positive electrode active material capable of receiving and giving an anion, and an ionic conductor interposed between a positive electrode and a negative electrode and conducting anions.SELECTED DRAWING: None
