Title:
VISBREAKER TAR-CONTAINING ASPHALT COMPOSITION
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS5815555
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide an asphalt compsn. with improved water resistance and adhesiveness, prepared by adding visbreaker tar obtained from residual oil of straight-run vacuum distillation of petroleum, to residue from straight-run vacuum distillation of petroleum.

CONSTITUTION: A low-viscosity product obtained by mild thermal cracking of residual oil of straight-run vacuum distillation in petroleum refining, is led into a normal pressure distillation tower and residue after distrillation of naphtha, kerosene and light oil, is again led into vacuum distillation tower, where light oil with a boiling point of 540°C or lower is distilled out. The residue (visbreaker tar) remaining in the tower is added to residual oil of straight-run vacuum distillation of petroleum. The conditions of thermal cracking sholud be such that the yield of visbreaker tar in visbreaking may exceed 30%, pref. 50% or higher (total yield of cracking gas and distillate oil with a boiling point of 540°C or lower should be les than 50%).
