Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lubricant composition based on a viscosity index improver containing a polymer which has a high viscosity index and good shear stability and exhibits sufficient solubility in a lubricant base oil.SOLUTION: The viscosity index improver contains a polymer comprising a unit represented by general formula (1) as an essential constitutional unit, where the weight average molecular weight (Mw) of the polymer is greater than or equal to 20000 and less than 500000. The lubricant composition contains a lubricant and the viscosity index improver.SELECTED DRAWING: None
