Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a viscosity index-improving agent having a high viscosity index and good shear stability and having a high fluidity at around a room temperature when used as base oil solution thereby handled easily, and a lubricating oil composition using the same.SOLUTION: A viscosity index-improving agent of the present invention comprises a copolymer comprising a unit (a) derived from a maleimide monomer and a unit (b) derived from a macromonomer. A base oil solution which accounts for 22 mass% of concentration of the copolymer has a viscosity of 8000 mPa s or less.SELECTED DRAWING: None
