PURPOSE: An excellent viscosity reducing agent for highly conc. coal/water slurry which can enhance the fluidity and stability, which is prepd. by incorporating a polyether comp. or linked polyether compd., and carboxymethyl-cellulose or its salt.
CONSTITUTION: A viscosity reducing agent contg. (A) a polyether compd. prepd. by the addition of alkylene oxide with a compd. having at least one, pref. at least three active hydrogen atoms in the molecule or a linked polyether compd. prepd. by linking at least two molecules of said polyether compd. with a linkage agent, each having MW of 6,000W600,000, pref. 10,000W300,000, and (B) carboxymethylcellulose or its salt having a viscosity ≤10,000cP, pref. ≤20,000 cP at 25°C in a 2wt% aq. soln. Said alkylene oxide includes ethylene oxide and propylene oxide. When adding at least two of these compounds, block polymn. is pref. in order to effectively exhibit the surface activity.
