Title:
VISCOUS FLUID EMITTING NOZZLE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH02122850
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To permit the application of a uniform coating of viscous fluid such as adhesive agent to the desired width by providing the cylindrical core member of a nozzle with a central orifice for passing the viscous fluid therethrough and with a plurality of vents arranged spirally around the outer peripheral surface thereof.

CONSTITUTION: The cylindrical core member 7 of a nozzle 1 has a central orifice 14 for passing viscous fluid therethrough and a plurality of vents 18 arranged spirally around the outer peripheral surface thereof. In this example, the nozzle 1 is attached to the underside of a needle valve 30, below which the material 40 to be coated is moved at a rate of V so as to be coated with a viscous fluid P by being emitted from the central orifice 14, simultaneously with the air ejected through these vents 18. At this time, the spiral vents 18 causes the air to swirl to form a spindle-shaped air curtain, whereby the viscous fluid P from the central orifice 14 is delivered in the form of a spiral thread in a constant width without running out of the air curtain. The desired coating width can be obtained by changing the height H of the nozzle in proportional relationship with the coating width.
