Abstract:
To obtain a visible light excitation type titanium dioxide photocatalyst having high photocatalytic activity in both the regions of ultraviolet light and visible light.
Titanium hydrate and/or a dried body thereof as starting material is fired under reduction in a reducing atmosphere containing a reducing gas such as gaseous ammonia to produce the objective visible light excitation type titanium dioxide photocatalyst whose hue is represented by a yellowness (YI) of ≥35 and a whiteness (W) of ≥60.
