To enable use for a fine visual display and improve the display resolution by composing the system of an image source, a phase spatial optical modulating scanner, a driver/control circuit, an optical element, etc., built in the fine visual display.
The fine visual image display 80 includes an image generating device 81 similar to a light emitting element display chip so as to generate an image. Driver/control circuits are provided and interfaced with the image generating device 81. An optical system represented by a lens 83 comprises optiacal elements 84 and is arranged separately from the fine visual image display 80. Then the transmission type phase spatial optical modulating scanner 85 roughly similar to a transmission type liquid crystal scanner has a polarizing layer formed in one body and passes light emitted by the image generating device 81 to generate an image visible with the eye 87 at a distance from an aperture 88.
