Title:
VISUAL SENSOR
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2006019901
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a visual sensor provided with an illumination control function capable of not only merely adjusting the brightness of an entire screen by controlling an illumination level but also ensuring illumination uniformity within the screen.

The visual sensor has a plurality of illuminators having a predetermined array pattern and almost simultaneously illuminating previously determined detection regions, and a two-dimensional image pickup element for acquiring images within the detection region illuminated almost simultaneously by the plurality of illuminators. The visual sensor also has an operation mode executing various types of testing on the basis of the images within the detection region acquired by the two-dimensional image pickup element, and a setting mode for adjusting illumination strength of the plurality of illuminators so that the concentration of the image within the detection region which is acquired by the two-dimensional image pickup element may be uniform.
