To safely and surely guide a visually handicapped person to a destination.
This visually handicapped person guiding system is constituted by including a transmitter 20 and a walking guiding stick 30. In this case, the transmitter 20 outputs a sound current in response to a guiding sound to a guiding line 10 comprising a conductor which is arranged along a guiding path for the visually handicapped person. The walking guiding stick 30 incorporates a portable receiver which senses a magnetic field being generated around the guiding line 10 by the sound current, and outputs the magnetic field by converting it into a sound. Then, the visually handicapped person can advance along the guiding path while listening to the guiding sound when walking while searching the road surface by the distal end of the walking guiding stick 30. In this case, since the magnetic field is locally generated, there is no fear for an interference such as an electric wave, and also, the magnetic field is not affected by a weather condition such as rain or snow as well.
