Abstract:
To provide an agent for promoting the production of parathyroid hormone, an agent for the treatment of hypoparathyroidism, an agent for the treatment of cartilage dysbolism, an osteoclastic inhibitor and an agent for the treatment of Paget's disease.
The agent for promoting the production of parathyroid hormone, agent for the treatment of hypoparathyroidism, agent for the treatment of cartilage dysbolism, osteoclastic inhibitor or agent for the treatment of Paget's disease contains a vitamin D antagonist expressed e.g. by formula (1) as an active component. In the formula, X is CH2, CH2CO, CH2CH(OH) or CH2CH(OH)CH2; Y2 is H2 or CH2; Z is H or OH; and dotted line shows a single bond or a double bond.
