Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the packaging area and the power consumption and to efficiently process data corresponding to the coding system of plural voice frame lengths in the voice coding/decoding system which employs the coder and the decoder using the coding system for plural different voice frame lengths.
SOLUTION: The system is provided with a coder 3, a decoder 11 and a control section 7 to correspond to each coding system in which plural different sample numbers are made as minimum processing units. If the coding systems of the transmitting and the receiving sides are different, the section 7 activates specified coder and decoder among coders 1 to n and decoders 1 to n and alternatively batch executes the coding process of the coder for transmission and the decoding process of the decoder for reception in the voice frame which is the least common multiple of respective minimum process unit frame length. Then, buffers 4, 5, 12 and 13, which store respective input and output data of the coder 3 and the decoder 11, hold the coding and decoding input and output data.
