Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To normally conduct reproducing at a reproducing side even though multichannel data are selectively transmitted in either a compressed or a noncompressed manner and down mixing at the reproducing side is selectively permitted or inhibited.
SOLUTION: ATSI includes first and second identifiers. The first identifier indicates whether the multichannel data in an audio packet are compressed or not. The second identifier indicates whether to permit down mixing of the data into stereophonic two channels or to inhibit it.
