Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To transmit voice data improved in compressibility by predictive coding of a multi-channel voice signal.SOLUTION: An adding circuit 1a computes a sum signal (L+R) of stereo 2 channels L and R, and a subtracting circuit 1b computes a difference signal (L-R). Differential computing circuits 11D1 and 11D2 compute differences Δ(L+R) and Δ(L-R) of this time and the previous time. Predictive coding circuits (15D1, 15D2, 16D1 and 16D2) compute a plurality of predictive values of the differences Δ(L+R) and Δ(L-R), compute each predictive residue of the plurality of predictive values and the differences Δ(L+R) and Δ(L-R), select a minimum predictive residue to make predictive coding data into a packet, and then transmit the data through a prescribed communication line.
