Abstract:
To provide an Internet transmission system without incurring long distance telephone charges regardless of the distance.
The Internet telephone system by this invention is constituted by two non-Internet capable regular devices. Between the devices, a packet of Internet-formatted data which is connected to the Internet 16, either in a duplex or simplex mode and including digitized, compressed and encrypted conversion is transmitted. No special telephone is required, nor computer runs special software. The apparatus which makes this possible is a system of Internet access nods 32, 34 called as voice engines.
